Personal Narrative My Family Relationship - 1370 Words

Every second of every day, something unexpected happens to someone. A life taken, a relationship that has ended, or even a positive pregnancy test. Because these events are unexpected, we cannot control them and sometimes can’t help them. I believe everything happens for a reason, although not always a good reason. Maybe I could’ve stopped what happened on that brisk, morning of May 19th, 2016. Yet, I’m happy that it wasn’t worse than it was. â€Å"I’m done with him playing with my feelings, I’m just going to do it,† I told my friends. â€Å"I’ll write a note like they do in the movies to ask him out.† So I wrote a note asking him to be my boyfriend, and stuck it in my bag for the next day. Thank goodness I never got to give him that note, the†¦show more content†¦I remember my mom telling us just as she was turning the corner she saw the flashing lights and knew we took that road. Right then is when she got the call. I turned in circles trying to take in the madness that was ensuing us but it was very difficult without my glasses. I felt like Velma in a Scooby Doo mystery, and wondered if I was going to have to wait days before I could see clearly again. There were cars passing by and even a bus passed with all of the kids peering out their small windows to see what had happened. My mom’s embrace brought all of us together like a bundle of cotton going to the market. I looked at my arm and remembered the stinging of the air that I had felt when I crawled out from the overturned truck. I had been cut by the broken glass that had shattered all across the windows. The EMT who helped wrap my arm took me into the ambulance to find gauze. I decided then that I didn’t like ambulances, they were intimidating and nerve-wracking. Although, I have wanted to be a doctor since I was little. My parents ended up driving me to the hospital because we didn’t want to go in the ambulance and there was no need for us to. I found myself paying attention to every single car that drove past and I watched all the road signs. I was actually relieved when we got to the emergency room and walked through the sliding doors.
